Luxury Italian furniture company Opera Contemporary has unveiled its first monobrand store in the heart of Milan. Spread across 2,150 square feet and two floors, the showroom was crafted by locally based design firm Bestetti Associati to capture the dialogue among surfaces, furnishings, and architectural elements.

“The extraordinary woodworking tradition of Opera Contemporary has enabled us to highlight the value of the graphic stroke, the transformation of lines into products that stand out for the intrinsic elegance of each detail,” says Bestetti Associati art director Kicco Bestetti. “We have set out to construct a flexible model of rapid and dynamic evolution, one that could incorporate changes and interpret them in line with the corporate vision.”

Refined but cozy, the space’s interiors are lined with parquet floors and wallpaper as well as disruptive focal points like gilded metallic pedestals. A materiality anchored by wood, marble, leather, and metal echoes the compositions of the furniture on display, amplifying Opera Contemporary’s versatility. Dark floors and lightly toned walls seem to dilate the space, while custom wood paneling expresses an elegant graphic design inspired by the brand’s collections. In addition to living room and bedroom vignettes, a materials library is also housed onsite.
