The Cloudveil Hotel Lands in Jackson Hole

The Cloudveil, an Autograph Collection hotel, has debuted in the heart of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Named in homage to the Cloudveil Dome within the Teton Range, the 100-room property features a collaborative design by TruexCullins, CLB Architects, and IBI Group that reflects the historic and natural splendor of the setting.

As a modern reinterpretation of the site’s Western heritage, the design aims to honor the namesake with a textural and visual experience akin to the lifting of clouds to reveal a transformational journey. “Our challenge was to create a hotel design that embodies what is so unique about Jackson Hole—the scale and grandeur of the landscape, the extreme contrasts, wildlife, and the people who have formed this community,” says TruexCullins principal Kim Deetjen. “This meant making big powerful moves, using real materials from the region, and engaging the highest standard of authentic craftmanship.”

A medley of raw, organic materials punctuate the open lobby, which is outfitted with modern wood and stone finishes, custom ambient lighting, natural textiles, and floor-to-ceilings windows. A three-story granite wall and oversized woodburning fireplace serve as key focal points, along with a 3,000-pound boulder that was repurposed to create the front desk.

Warm, neutral tones define the Cloudveil’s accommodations, which are informed by the surrounding mountains and national parks. Custom oak beams and leather furnishings inject a rustic Western flair, while artwork and photography from local talents further animate each chamber.

The Bistro, the hotel’s signature restaurant, is populated with an alfresco café area and a zinc bar that reinforces the natural materiality. A 5,000-square-foot rooftop acts as a versatile social hub. Additional amenities include a fitness center, outdoor pool, and 7,500 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting and event space.
