McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality has transformed a landmark 19th-century structure in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans into the Hotel Saint Vincent. The 75-room hotel was revitalized by Lambert McGuire Design, MML Hospitality’s sister company, to honor the site’s storied past and inject modern elegance into its historic character.

“We hope the hotel feels like a restful respite from the decadence and debauchery,” says Larry McGuire, partner of McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality and Lambert McGuire Design. “We want those who visit us to discover a side to New Orleans that they haven’t experienced before. The Lower Garden District has a more neighborhood feel than places like the French Quarter.”

Exteriors are largely retained, save for sky blue ceilings painted inside of the veranda as well as looming palms and hanging ferns for a dash of greenery. Gas lighting and neon signage also animate the façade. Throughout Hotel Saint Vincent, 20th-century Italian design elements infuse a contemporary opulence into the atmosphere along with midcentury furnishings, lighting, and rich materials that complement vintage 1970s glass chandeliers and locally commissioned artwork. The restored original grand staircase serves as a key focal point for the property.

Italian eatery San Lorenzo and a location of the Elizabeth Street Café are serve as F&B options, while the sundrenched Paradise Lounge and the intimate Chapel Club provide more convivial social hubs. Additional amenities include the ByGeorge New Orleans retail space, a pool, brick courtyard, and pool bar.

Each accommodation boasts its own unique layout, from corner Mary suites to the poolside Courtyard Kings to intimate Sister Studios on the fourth floor. Luxe materials like deep red mohair, salmon-hued velvet curtains, red lacquer millwork, and Carrara marble adorn each chamber along with a mix of vintage artwork and décor. Red and pink bathroom tiles are detailed with custom psychedelic wallpaper inspired by traditional Florentine marble book bindings.
