Hong Kong-based design studio AB Concept has unveiled its latest F&B space, Argo, as part of the redesign at the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. Reminiscent of a traditional conservatory, the cocktail bar is distinguished by sweeping architectural curves and a palette comprising rich textures, floral patterns, and elegant finishes.

“Our design concept was inspired by a conservatory and we wanted this to be conveyed in many of the thoughtful details throughout the bar, from the use of mirrors to reflect the incredible views and give an immense sense of light and depth to the space,” says AB Concept cofounder Ed Ng. “Our vision for Argo was to create a new destination bar that suits the vibrant scene in the city and does justice to the stunning Victoria Harbor views, while also striking a balance between function and aesthetics.”

A feature wall composed of wood inlaid with an ornate-yet-subtle floral pattern guides visitors into Argo, where a massive structural column is reborn as a dramatic, glistening focal point. The column is clad with more than 136 cylinders wrapped in faux shagreen and framed with a custom chandelier.

Framed artwork by Raku Inoue depicting insects—including butterflies and beetles—and made from paper and leaves also animates the interior. The main seating enclaves accommodate guests in semi-enclosed spaces to instill intimacy. Accented by mirror finishes, nickel, and custom textured ceramic wallpaper, the sleek curves of each hub are complemented by hanging terrariums that round out the conservatory motif.
