Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to grow its presence in the U.S. with the launch of a new luxury outpost in San Francisco in 2026. Slated for development in the Transbay District, Rosewood San Francisco will occupy 15 floors of a 61-story tower designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects that will span 800 feet in height and a total of 1.1 million square feet.

The brand’s ‘Sense of Place’ philosophy will inform the property’s design narrative. “Rosewood San Francisco will channel the vibrancy of the City by the Bay where many personalities, cultures, and minds coalesce,” says Joanne Behrens, vice president of design and project services for Rosewood. “We are deeply inspired by the significant historical events that shaped San Francisco as a city, its present identity, and the unique course its future holds. We derive a spatial language that modernizes design heritage, illustrates contextual landscape, and embraces digital experience.”

London- and Hong Kong-based interior design practice Joyce Wang Studio will envision the hotel’s 180 guestrooms and suites.

Brand signatures, like wellness concept Asaya and the private Manor Club, will be featured along with a fitness center, indoor lap pool, indoor-outdoor restaurant, patisserie, living room, and expansive event spaces.
