As restrictions continue to lift, Hilton is poised to meet the anticipated uptick in international travel with plans to boost its European portfolio by nearly 30 percent by the end of 2023. With 217 properties and more than 35,000 guestrooms currently in the pipeline, the company is on track to open 15 new collection and lifestyle hotels across seven European nations in 2021 alone.

“Europe is instrumental to Hilton’s global growth because of the high volume of leisure and business travel in the region,” says Hilton CFO president of global development Kevin Jacobs. “As the industry continues through recovery, it has been an excellent time for owners and developers to invest in the future of hospitality, especially as we see travel pick up in markets across Europe.”

Bordering a pair of recently opened properties in Spain, the Emerald House Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton is scheduled to open before the end of 2021 and showcase a range of historic artwork to instill a unique sense of place. Hilton will also maintain its momentum in France, following two openings this year, with the launch of the elegant Hôtel Le Belgrand Paris Champs-Elysées in late 2021.

The company’s UK footprint will also grow with the addition of the Samuel Ryder St. Albans, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and Lost Property, Curio Collection by Hilton in 2021 and 2022, respectively. 2022 will also see growth in Italy, where Cosmopolita Hotel Rome, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will mark the brand’s arrival in the country in the heart of the Italian capital. The Sea Breeze Santorini Beach Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton will become Hilton’s first hotel in Santorini and Curio Collection’s second Greek hotel upon opening next year. Finally, Germany will receive seven new Hilton properties by the end of the year, including the Wassterturm Hotel Cologne, Curio Collection by Hilton.
