Italian menswear brand Canali has opened a new flagship store in London. Crafted by Hangar Design Group, the retail space’s interior design reflects the refined simplicity and the spatial and material quality of Canali.

“We wanted to create a brighter and more ethereal atmosphere, which extends the existing space and amplifies its volumes,” says Hangar Design architect Alberto Bovo. “Our commitment was to translate the DNA of a company of excellence like Canali into a site-specific project, dialoguing with the urban context and enhancing the brand.”

The 3,335-square-foot boutique nods to Milanese residential luxury of the early 20th century with rounded lines, sinuous profiles, shiny marble, and smooth textures. A nine-light lamp punctuates the entrance as a key focal point illuminating green velvet surfaces, marble veining, and horizontal bands of American walnut—the latter of which references the architectural legacy of the store’s home on New Bond Street. The sculptural staircase leads guests to a VIP room on the upper level where tailoring appointments are hosted as well.
