Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort has reemerged following a five-month renovation. The Saint Lucia getaway has been refreshed courtesy of Viceroy’s in-house team, which focused on elevate the standard of luxury for the site and the locale.

“The overall design is inspired by the breathtaking landscape. The interiors have been crafted with a timeless and simplistic aesthetic, utilizing a light finish palette and highlighting views outward of the lush surroundings,” says Samantha Goodrich, director of design and planning for Viceroy Hotel Group. “Our goal is for guests to experience heightened luxury and seclusion while reconnecting with nature.”

Blanched beachy façades were updated with new shutters, ornate lattice porches, and thatched roofs, while interiors are imbued with warm wood tones, soft white stone, and layered upholstery. Blue accents also abound to reinforce the sea and sky.

The Great Room, Sugar Beach’s signature F&B venue, received a facelift in the form of new windows and sliding doors, while the new alfresco lounge Palm Court accommodates nine guests at a marble-topped bar alongside contemporary seating. The Jalousie Grill has expanded its sheltered outdoor seating area as well. Outdoor spaces have been elegantly reimagined, including the main pool, which is lined with theatre-style lounge chairs and chic cabanas.

In addition to a revamped lobby, the resort’s Rainforest Spa has expanded with a new contemporary couple’s treehouse treatment room. Situated on stilts, the space is equipped with large windows that frame views of the forest, while a freestanding indoor bathtub and an outdoor shower promote relaxation. A new wellness and fitness facility now anchors the property with a contemporary aesthetic composed of wood panels and floor-to-ceiling windows that reinforce the lush surroundings.

Nine luxury accommodations—four one-bedroom beachfront bungalows and five luxury cottages—have also been added onsite. The contemporary bungalows overlook the beach from private outdoor terraces and chic indoor lounges that serve as an extension of the bedroom. Cottages are nestled in the mountains and boast a fresh neutral palette of white and beige, as well as private lounge terraces complemented by plunge pools.
