New York-based hospitality enterprise the Group has announced plans to launch three restaurants in Washington, DC this year. La Grande Boucherie, Olio e Piu, and Washoku Room—new iterations of the company’s popular New York concepts—will open within the Historic National Bank of Washington, a city landmark located on 14th Street one block away from the White House. Distinguished by 400 feet of wraparound frontage and a neoclassical façade, the building boasts a newly renovated interior that comprises 23,580 square feet across its three levels.

The Group founder Emil Stefkov will co-design each of the restaurants in collaboration with Julien Legeard of New York-based architectural design firm Legeard Studio. “The Bank Building was love at first sight,” Stefkov says. “It is a perfect fit for our vision to bring La Grande Boucherie to DC, a city with so much charm. We were thrilled to find this iconic building where we can bring our Art Nouveau concept to life.”

La Grande Boucherie will be crafted with an elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style that complements the brasserie’s classic and modern French cuisine. Olio e Piu will evoke an authentic trattoria atmosphere, while Washoku Room will feature either a traditional Japanese kaiseki counter or a sushi omakase counter.

The restaurants are slated to open in fall 2022.
